Myotherapy is a branch of manual medicine which focuses on the comprehensive assessment, treatment and management of musculoskeletal pain. This involves an extensive physical evaluation and an integrated therapeutic approach to connective tissue (muscles, joints, nerves and fascia). Treatment is then applied to remedy acute or chronic conditions and prevent them from reoccurring. Myotherapy has a high range of success for most common musculoskeletal conditions that result from improper posture, poor biomechanics and injury. A Myotherapist can assess and treat the connective tissue using mostly direct ‘hands-on’ techniques.
